More nurses sought to treat elderly populationetition at a tra

Health authorities will redouble their efforts to train nurses in eldercare as the proportion of older people in the pop

ulation expands and tens of millions of people struggle with disabilities, a senior health official said on Wednesday.

Jiao Yahui, deputy chief of medical administration and supervision at the National He

alth Commission, said there are not enough nurses to cope with the growing needs of the country’s elderly.

A regulation on the training of healthcare workers and standards of service is being drafted. It i

s expected to boost the number of nurse’s aides, Jiao said ahead of International Nurses Day on Sunday.

The nurse’s aides will complement the work of full-fledged nurses to meet the demand for services for the elderly, she said.

The number of registered nurses in China topped 4 million as of the end of last year. Nearly 70 perc

ent held a junior college degree or above, accounting for almost half of all healthcare professionals, she said.

Thanks to the extension of the subsidiary policy of new e

energy vehicles (NEV), sales of NEVs reached 111,000 in March, up 100.9 percent year-o

n-year, with NEV wholesales accounting for 254,000 units in the first quarter.

CPCA predicts a 40 percent increase in NEV sales to 1.7 million

units in 2019, based on these first quarter figures.

As China began to cut manufacturing sector VAT from 16 to 13 percent on April 1, som

e imported and high-end vehicle brands lowered prices to boost sales nationwide.

As the industrial chain of domestic-made goods are comparatively longer than that of imports howe

ver, most domestic manufacturers have not lowered prices for goods, including automobiles.

“Consumers should not expect too much on price cuts of automo

biles, but choose vehicles based on demand and affordability,” CPCA said.

With rising incomes and desires for a better life, Chinese consumers are paying more attent

As a leading company in regional development planning

Roland Berger has contributed to China’s economic development for more than three

decades and would like to bring those experiences to Xiongan’s development, Jiang said.

“As Xiongan New Area is a national strategy and therefore receives attention and support from the highest levels, its devel

On Feb 23, 2017, Xi visited Hebei during the planning process of Xiongan.

He also repeated the untruth that he predicted the result

when he flew into his Turnberry golf course in 2016. In fact, Trump arrived on the west coast of Scotland hours after the result of the referendum was announced.

Whether the President knows he’s lying, or has convinced himself of the truth of his alternative reality, is unclear. But

his continued use of a discredited fact is a core element of his political technique.

Trump also put Varadkar on the spot — asking him to comment on Brexit, threatening to expose their differences on the issue.

Then Trump interrupted Varadkar, who watched with a bemus

”The European Union treats us very, very unfairly,” Trump s

orth Korea defies UN with arms sales and oil imports, report says

North Korea has broken UN sanctions with a “massive” increase of oil imports and coal exports, a UN report has found.

The 400-page document released Monday by the UN Panel of Experts on North Korea

said that Pyongyang had also tried to sell weapons in the Middle East and hacked banks across the world.

The report comes after the collapse of last month’s talks between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jo

ng Un in Hanoi, Vietnam, in part due to disagreement over when to remove sanctions in exchange for steps toward Pyongyang’s denuclearization.

The report said that Pyongyang rendered sanctions ineffective by increasing the number of ship-to-ship tran

sfers it conducts at sea. Japanese officials have observed North Korean ships engaging in purported ship-to-ship transfers.

”The country continues to defy Security Council resolutions through a massive i

ncrease in illegal ship-to-ship transfers of petroleum products and coal,” the UN report said.

After discussing the Green New Deal, Trump urged those

considering socialism to look to Venezuela to see its failures.

”Socialism is not about the environment, it’s not about justic

e, it’s not about virtue,” he said. “Socialism is about only one thing — it’s called power for

the ruling class, that’s what it is. Look at what’s happening in Venezuela and so many other places.”

  Green New Deal

Trump came out swinging against the Green New Deal, calling the progressive climate plan an attempt by Democrats to “com

pletely take over American energy and completely destroy America’s economy through their new $100 trillion Gr

een New Deal … which somebody described as a high school term paper written by a poor student.”

He said that the plan would destroy the natural gas, nuclear power and auto industri

es as “their plan would remove every gas-powered car from American roads.”

The plan actually calls for “overhauling transportation sys

tems in the United States to eliminate pollution and greenhouse gas emissions from the tran

sportation sector as much as is technologically feasible” and does not call for taking away cars.
